So, my dad, Dub Pool, was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Renal cancer.  It was only through a series of unrelated events that it was discovered.
 
On August 4th, he will be having an operation to remove the effected kidney completely at John Hopkins Hospital. We're hoping continuing treatments will not be needed. There is always a possibility of complications, but the medical staff have assembled an amazing team to be on hand for any situation.

My dad works three jobs: as a church adminsitrator, interrim pastor and retail clerk. Thankfully he has health insurance through his retail job, but no matter how robust, will still leave the family with medical expenses above the usual househould budget. Lost wages from the inability to work has already started to take its toll and will continue to do so during his recovery time.

As an added stroke of bad timing, the family's only car got a flat tire while returning from a medical consultation. That car is already in need of serious repairs.  When it rains it pours, y'all.

We were fortunate to get an amazing surgeon at Johns Hopkins, to have this cancer be isolated to a redundant organ and to have caught it before it spread. This particular cancer doesn't actually show symptoms until advanced stages, so it was a total fluke that it was discovered so early. But it's still cancer, and it still sucks.

I'm hoping to raise funds to cover medical expenses, lost wages and general household bills for the family while my dad recovers.  Any thing will help and my mother, sister and I appreciate you so much for support!
