Dublin Marathon for sick Children 2023.

Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of Our Ladys Hospital Sp School and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me. My name is Mark Hudson. I’m currently training for the Dublin City Marathon in October 23 ,which I hope to run in 3hours 30 minutes. I want to raise funds for Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin. This Charity is important to me as I have seen first hand what happens in this hospital on a day to day basis. The staff, nurses and doctors are just phenomenal people.My eldest son Leo at birth in 2016 was born with with a condition called Talipes or also known as clubfoot. This condition can be either fixed or positional which needs to be treated very soon after birth. The Ponseti Method is used to treat Talipes after birth which is a huge success. This starts with the child’s both feet being re positioned from being turned totally inwards to being positioned like a normal foot and then been placed into plaster for many weeks, from hip to toe.After this process is completed my son had to wear a boot and bar brace to bed each night for over five years to correct this condition.This method has changed my sons life so he can do normal day to day things like running, kicking a football and playing with friends. My family owe a huge amount of love and gratitude back to all the nurses and doctors in Crumlin and especially the orthopaedic clinic who helped our Son Leo on his journey so far. From there support and dedication over many years Leo is thriving today which we appreciate so much. I hope that whatever amount I can raise for Our Lady’s Hospital Crumlin will help in some small way.
