Update: blue cross denied any amount of short term leave benefits for Chris
On May 3, 2017 Sarah gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Due to severe complications sweet baby Hannah passed away that evening in the arms of her loving mother and father. Not only has Hannah's passing has been incredibly difficult for Chris, Sarah and their families emotionally, but it has also been difficult financially. Chris and Sarah are some of the most selfless people we know and would do anything for friends and family.
No one should have to plan their child's funeral and worry about the cost. Chris is devastated and works a very hands on job in the oilfield. It is not safe for him to be back at work till he has healed and he needs to be off work to be there by Sarah's side and their 3 other children. Though of course we know our economy in the oil field right now, and even if Chris takes a stress leave it will still put their family of 5 through a lot of financial burden.
We are hoping to give something back to them and help raise money so that Chris can stay home with Sarah so that they can take the time to properly recover and grieve together as a family. We want to help ease any financial stress they shouldn't need to worry about, that no one should ever have to plan for.
Please help if you can. Instead of your morning cup of coffee, use that money to help this family. Any little bit adds up to a lot and they are a very deserving family.
