Two of my oldest and dearest friends Roisin Kavanagh and Sara Moore decided for whatever reason to move to Dubai 3 years ago. They have played for St Fechins since u12s and were part of the ladies team who won both league and championship from Junior to Division 1, where we lost the Senior final in 2021. This year, St Fechins won our first ever Senior Championship and are through to the quarter final of the Leinster Club Championship, after beating Pobal Parnell of Dublin last weekend. We want the girls home to give us the best chance at this Leinster title. The celebrations in the parish have been amazing and we would love to keep this going for as long as possible. Roisin came home for the final two weeks ago for 24 hours, which gave us a huge boost to get over the line, but she hasn’t sweetened Emirates into a discount just yet. Any donation to the Dubai fund would be wholeheartedly appreciated - we will put on a show for any supporters this Saturday in Westmeath, hopefully we will see you there!
