Duane’s Emergency Support Funds

Hey y’all,

My name is Ashley, Duane’s mom. Duane was a perfectly sweet healthy boy, unfortunately he started having seizures out of the blue on Tues (10/10) evening continuing into today, Friday.

Well just to give a general overview to now, he's had a total of 10 seizures so far. Blood, urine and chest X-ray all looked good. EKG didn’t show anything out of the ordinary. EEG caught multiple seizures on the monitoring system from this morning so that was good. The doctors wanted the information from that.

He got the MRI and spinal tap done. Preliminary results from the MRI are normal. The neurologist is very curious to see what information the spinal tap says.

Everything so far on that has also been normal, we are waiting for autoimmune disorder results still.

Ultimately, there's a possibility that we won't have any of the answers that I'm looking for. That we walk out of the hospital just as confused as when we walked in. But we won’t be unprepared.

They have officially classified him as being epileptic. They want to monitor him for a little while to make sure he comes back to normal because he is very very tired and now still having seizures.

Our stay at Sacred Heart has been extended for at least a few more days until they can figure out how to stop the seizures or figure out what’s causing them in the first place.

All of Duane’s medical bills will be covered by insurance, but our family could use some financial help with bills, food and gas. Our highest priority is being here with Duane and making sure he knows he’s loved and supported. I have not left his side since arriving but Dylan is going back and forth a lot to be here for us but also to home for our 2 other little ones. He is also no longer working through this.

With all the unknowns including how long our stay will be we could really use some extra help.
