It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Duane Farren on Sunday, 2nd March. Duane was a true friend to everyone and a passionate advocate for Millom’s heritage. Through his incredible dedication to archaeology, History talks, walking tours, heritage digs, and local history champion, he educated and inspired so many in our community. His contributions to Millom Heritage and Arts Centre, Millom of Yesteryear, Millom & District Local History, and beyond have left a lasting impact.

Duane was also a devoted family man and a proud sportsman, supporting Millom Rugby League, always cheering the team on from across the wall at home games. His warmth, generosity, and unwavering support for others made him a cherished member of our community.

Now, in this difficult time, we would like to give back to Duane’s family Sharon, Megan and Leah, as he would have done for ours. We are raising funds to help support them through this heartbreaking loss.
