Duane fell, hit his head and had a very serious injury to his spinal cord and nerves to his arms. He had surgery to remove the ruptured and bulging discs and to fuse 4 levels in his neck. Duane is currently in rehab at St Joe Ann Arbor and we are hopeful that he will regain enough function in his arms/hands to be able to drive, go to work and live independently. It takes times to see which nerves heal and which were too damaged. Duane’s health insurance has a high deductible and then pays 80% till he reaches an out of pocket expense of over $7500.00. Plus he still has to pay his rent and car insurance while he cannot work. To be honest I’m worried that his deductible and out of pocket owed will roll over to start anew on Jan 1 but we will cross that bridge when we reach it.

Duane is a good man who has helped others and I’m hoping we can pitch in to help him so he isn’t saddled with debt he cannot pay.
