Hi, I am Duane’s Sister-In-Law Lorain, and let me say straight out, Duane hasn't passed yet but, we are told it won't be very long.   I am putting together this "Go Fund Me" page to help his wife with funeral costs and to pay off any leftover medical bills. Duane doesn't have a life insurance policy, like most, he often said "I need to get life insurance." Anyone who knows Duane, knows he is the first one there to offer help. You don’t even have to ask, and he rarely asks for help himself.

 

On Thanksgiving Day 2020 Duane got a phone call from Dr. Serrano (liver transplant doctor) with his test results. He was diagnosed with a mass on his liver which needed to be removed, along with removal of half of his liver. He was told his liver would grow back but, he would need to have chemotherapy to be sure all cancer cells were killed off. In January 2021 Duane had the surgery. He progressed wonderfully and everything looked very good. In September of 2021 Duane started losing weight and was having a hard time swallowing. He had tests which showed a grapefruit sized tumor had grown attached to his new section of liver and his Vena Cava Vein was/is going right through the tumor. This vein is the vein that pumps blood throughout our system and to our heart. Because of this, tumor removal is impossible. Duane was told that with both chemo and radiation he may have a year and without, maybe 4-6 months. After a few rounds, his body just couldn’t handle it. On January 27, 2022, Duane went on hospice. So now it’s just a matter of time until Jesus calls him home.

 

I am asking for any help you can give, whether it be a dollar or ten. Every little bit is a huge help. The thought of Theresa’s being unable to keep her home or their fur babies, is way too much to imagine. Duane can pass on knowing that others are there for her. This will make his passing much easier on him. He is very worried about her; we all know she always comes first in his eyes and his heart. Thank You so very much.
