Duane & MaryJo fund
Donation protected
Brief description of occurrence: Our dear friends Duane and Mary Jo were involved in a serious vehicle collision. The collision occurred while driving home from Oregon to their home to central CA.
Both are in ICU and will undergo surgeries, will need rehab, and daily care. Family will be traveling to different hospitals because Duane and Mary Jo were transported to different hospitals for specialized treatment. It would be very helpful for family members who are traveling to the hospitals to have a fund to help cover some of the following expenses: travel / hotel accommodations. Additionally, those caring for Mary Jo and Duane will need to reschedule their daily lives for day to day care upon release from hospitals and physical therapist. Other funds would help with medical cost & deductibles.
Brief update: Mary Jo was transferred to a Stanford MC & Duane to Kaiser. Both facilities are better equipped to care for their needs. Both medical facilities are closer to both families in the San Jose area. Due to the outpouring of donations from friends and family, I extended the GFM amount. Additionally, as I am not a family member, I anticipated that the funds would be distributed by a trusted family member. To better serve the family with GFM, Mary Jo's oldest brother, Steve Bleeg , who lives in close proximity to the family and hospitals, was selected and added as a "beneficiary". Steve will be withdrawing funds for distribution. Thank you Steve for taking on this important role and being there for family in this time of need.
Thanks to all who shared their hearts and generosity, Shannon.
Update: The news of Mary Jo passing away from her injuries leaves a gapping hole in so many lives. I know this from the outpouring of messages of love and friendship for Mary Jo and the entire Claunch and Bleeg families. The posted messages from those making donations and those maintaining contact on other social media sights is testimony to Mary Jo's life and all she touched. I will miss Mary Jo's presence, but she will always be with us. Because life can change in a heart beat, as with Mary Jo and Duane, be mindful to love each other like it's the last day of each others lives. With the love of Christ upon us, love each other.
