Dual Recovery Fund for Adeline Bearry
Donation protected
Hello friends, family, friends of friends and people I don't know. Thank you for visiting Adeline's Go Fund Me page. I have changed the goal to reflect what it will take to keep her at Viewpoint until at least December 31, 2022.
As many of you know, on June 12, 2022 Adeline decided not to take her Adderal of 2 years and to get an iced coffee instead. She drank sweet wine all night and did not sleep.
On June 13th her friends Peyton and Serenity took her to the ER in Austin because she wasn't making sense. She had been in an accident the day before but just a minor one and they wanted to clear her of a concussion or something more serious. The doctors ran multiple tests and determined that it was not a physical illness but rather a mental one. They recommended inpatient psychiatric care with a bipolar/schizophrenic mania diagnosis and she declined. She went home and asked to come to Dallas, so Peyton and Serenity brought her here. I made an appointment for a consultation at Texas Behavioral Health the next day, where they also recommended inpatient care for mania, bipolar or schizophrenia. She stayed for 7 days but was released to my care with Invega and outpatient. She quickly refused both and became violent and agitated and she went back to Austin on a Greyhound. She became increasingly erratic with her father. She quit her job and started posting an inordinate amount on social media. She became violent and agitated at her dad's and was kicked out. She was picked up on a wellness check after causing damage at a friend's apartment and spent 7 days at Cross Creek in Austin. She was able to sign herself out of there and made it two days before being picked up again and taken to Austin Oaks, where she was from September 1st-September 21st. She was abused by staff and other guests at the state hospitals and was pumped full of Ativan and allowed to roam the halls night after night. None of the hospitals knew how to deal with her or what to do. It was devastating. I started researching her illness and discovered a page called Team Daniel and the Clozapine community. I learned that there are a few places in the United States following the Laitman protocol and that it is considered something of a last resort when dealing with psychosis. Adeline has not come out of her psychosis yet. The longer she stays in this psychosis the longer it will take to get her out.
This community finally gave me hope and ViewPoint Recovery Center popped up as a facility to send your loved ones to, so I reached out. Eric is amazing and walked us step by step through everything, helped to get Adeline on the right medication at Austin Oaks and managed to stabilize her enough for the move. It is not covered by my insurance; her dad's insurance is accepted but the facility is still out of network. We were able to make the first payment to get her in this week with her dad's HSA account but will need another payment next month as well as $1,200 a month for room, board and incidentals. That will get us through December 31st, but the deductible will start over January 1. We are trying to keep her there for a year, as that is how long it takes to stabilize on clozapine. We will need another deductible amount met on January 1st as well as room and board each month. Her medications will also go back to out-of-pocket expenses.
Please consider donating to Adeline's psychiatric care. She is incredibly bright, fun, kind, adventurous, loving, caring, and courageous....she has so much promise!
She has conquered so many things in her life and I am confident she can manage this illness. If you are a friend or family member please share this on your social media with a fun story or kind word about her. She has helped so many others, please donate and help her.
