On Wednesday, August 13th, my husband John was rushed to Toppenish Hospital after being found unconscience in his car in the ditch along Hwy 97 by Fort Rd.
He was then transferred to Yakima Regional where they believed he'd suffered something called a hemorrhagic stroke. The bleeding occurred in the Broca area of the brain affecting his speech and cognotive reasoning.
John spent 2 days in ICU was transferred to an ACU room, and then sent home. Many tests have been performed, including a needle biopsy on August 26th, with concern that it might be a fast growing tumor or infection. They removed 12 CC's of fluid. He spent another 3 days in the hospital.
Another MRI on November 2nd revealed a rather large mass/cyst had developed in the same location in his brain. He went in for surgery November 11th to remove it. It was biopsied and sent to pathology. The surgeon Dr. Tran, believed he was able to get all of the mass removed.
Unfortunately, today, November 18th, the pathology revealed that John is being afflicted with a very aggressive form of Brain Cancer called glioblastoma multiforme, grade 4.
