Hi, my name is Hanah. I am originally from South Korea and now live in California. I want to invite you into what God is doing in my life, this year. I pray you would consider supporting my mission as you come to know me and my story.
I was born in Seoul, S. Korea and I was raised by a musician/teacher (Dad from the island of Jeju) and a ballet dancer (Mom from Seoul). I started to learn playing the piano when I was about 3 years old, and since then, I pursued every opportunity to learn and play.
What started as a foundation in classical music grew to jazz exposure and inspiration. In my college years, I began attending a music conservatory specializing in jazz performance. Within that first year, I received 3 scholarships as a top student.
After graduating, my family and I moved to California in 2003. In that same year, I accepted Jesus as my Lord. Not long after, I had the opportunity take a mission trip to Dumaguete, Philippines. This trip inspired me greatly. I felt the calling to become a missionary and introduce children to Jesus through teaching music. I wasn't sure how or when this was going to take place, but I knew it was to happen.
Until now, I have worked as a musician and music teacher. As part of my career, I was able to travel to different countries. This helped prepare me for what is ahead. Last year, I visited Brazil. During this trip, I spent time with the YWAM organization and came to fall in love with the children I met. This experience triggered so much for me, I knew it was time to start the next chapter in my journey.
Upon returning, I began to pray earnestly and seek the Lord regarding discipleship and missions. He opened a door for me to train with DTS in Kona, Hawaii. My training begins April 6th, 2017. The cost of tuition, outreach, and living expenses is an estimated $8,500.
I am trusting in the Lord that He would provide through the generous hearts of my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ who believe in the call to bring the Good News to the world. This season will break all my fears and build His Kingdom. And I want to give all my music gifts to children(orphans, foster kids, street kids) with the Good News wherever God leads me.
