WOS BAR Fundraiser
Donation protected
Dear Wos Friends and Family,
The year 2020 has been rough for everyone, and particularly for the bar industry. We were the first businesses to be closed down back in March, then confinement came, and we were the last ones to reopen then. In order to simply remain open, we had to take a loan sponsored by the government to pay the bar's rent, the suppliers, advance the money for the salaries,... It amounted to 39.000€.
This summer was very harsh for a place like Wos without a terrace. We had no way to make up and pay back anything of the loan that we had to take just to stay open.
I always pushed back the idea of a crowdfunding, by pride, and because I thought that the situation would improve and we would be able to generate enough money to pay that loan back, but the situation instead went worse. As you know, we have been forced to close at 22h at night since September the 28th, cutting by more than 50% our income, and since October the 5th, we have been forced to close, and now the curfew...
As some of you already know, Wos is selling. It has been a fantastic journey so full of parties, great people, laughs and dances, late nights and mighty encounters, great drinks and spirits, great staff and timeless memories and of course, Packers games! The bar sale has been postponed to try to have a chance to have a good bye party but by the look of things, it seems more and more unlikely that we will be able to welcome you in to say good bye properly. Hence the bar sale will take place in November. And because of all this, I don't see how we have any chance of paying back the loan before we close Wos for ever.
If you had in mind to come and have one last pint, or if you're living on the other side of the planet and wished you could have stopped at the bar for one, or if you just want to contribute to a place you had some good times, we will greatly appreciate it. One last opportunity to buy a pint, a round of shots, a glass at Wos, even virtually while leaving a note of your memory at Wos, and why the bar had been important to you.
Please do write a note wether here or in a private message if you make a donation.
Thank you a million for being there over the years. Cheers!
Pierre
