"Even so, it is well with my soul"

Meet Matt and Chelsea! They are an incredible couple who have been through many trials but continue to fight each one with strength and trust in the Lord.

Back in June, Matt got the devastating diagnosis of colon cancer. With surgery quickly approaching, and chemotherapy to follow, they now get to spend their summer in hospitals and attending doctors appointments.

Post op care for Matt will include a week in hospital and several weeks off work while he recovers from surgery alone.

I'm hoping to help them with the unexpected loss of income and the extra expenses that come with hospital visits to allow them to focus on healing rather than finances.

Update, Aug 5:

Thank you to everyone who has prayed, donated, brought meals, and checked in. We appreciate every one of you!

As for an update, we are just about three weeks out from surgery. Surgery went well! Matt even came home early - only three days after surgery! We have an appointment on the 20th with the surgeon, to which we will get more answers. On the 26th, we will go to the cancer centre for an appointment regarding chemo.

The pathology report has come in that we have seen. The tumor grew from 5 cm by 5 cm at the colonscopy to 9 cm by 6.1 cm by 2.8 cm. 5/21 lymph nodes had cancer. From our understanding, they will grade this as Stage 3. We will be keeping you all posted as we continue to journey this cancer battle and the time off.
