Hi all.

My name is Sarah. I created this fundraiser for one of my oldest and dearest friends, Mike, who unexpectedly lost his incredible Mother, Deirdre or “Dee”, on Monday, May 16, due to complications from pneumonia.

On top of a pandemic, this family has been through so much in the last 2 years, more than any should endure. In early 2020 Mike and his family also lost his oldest sister Alicia unexpectedly. As to be expected, it hit them all hard. And now newly engaged and planning a wedding, he’s lost his Mom and best friend.

All who knew Dee loved her and knew how much she loved her 3 children. She was the proudest grandmother and a friend to all. She left us much too soon.

As her passing was unexpected, finances for a future memorial service or a burial were not in order and it has now fallen on Mike and his sister Cristina. And as you can imagine, costs have only gone up.

Mike has been a loyal and amazing friend to me for 20 years and doesn’t deserve an ounce of what life has dished out. I’m hopeful we can raise the money needed to cover the expenses quoted to put his beautiful Momma to rest, which will run $3k+. I’m asking for $4,000 in hopes there may be some extra to help the family after funeral costs. All funds will go directly to Mike.
