Nicole Fontaine Memorial Scholarship Fund

Nicole Lauren Fontaine, member of the DY class of 2013 and Worcester State University class of 2017, passed away on November 20, 2020. She will be deeply missed by many of her loved ones, including family, friends, and patients. This scholarship fund is designed to commemorate her life and many accomplishments.
The scholarship will go to someone who embodies all that Nicole is remembered for. He or she should demonstrate compassion and unwavering support of teammates, friends, family, and peers. This award will be given to a graduating student pursuing a career in the field of healthcare. As Nicole dedicated herself to healing others, the scholarship recipient demonstrates the strength, dedication, and skills to continue that legacy. Nicole was an active member of her school community, both at DY and Worcester State University. In 2017, Nicole graduated from Worcester State University with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. She also earned the Leadership Award from the Lillian R. Goodman Nursing Program, given to a student recognized for involvement in local, regional, state, and federal leadership and volunteer efforts. Subsequent to earning her degree, Nicole went on to practice nursing in several different settings and populations, shedding her light on an unparalleled breadth of people. Nicole committed herself to excellence in her field and the betterment of the healthcare system, notably through her work as a Registered Nurse. This scholarship will be awarded to a student who will continue this work and strive to empower those in the healthcare community, both patients and caregivers alike.
Nicole was, and is, loved beyond words. The world will be a better place with more caregivers and people like her in it; therefore, we hope to contribute to the continuation of her spirit in this way.
