Help Linda with Medical Expenses

Dear Family, Friends and Beyond,

Linda has recently been diagnosed with a rare spinal tumor, a plexiform neurofibroma.

Suffering from tremors, seizures, and excruciating nerve pain, Linda has been in and out of the hospital for months. While we are shocked to learn about the tumor, we are relieved to have a diagnosis. Unfortunately due to its location, surgical removal is not recommended and as the tumor grows it pushes into other organs and will cause additional health issues.

Finding relief and treatment for this rare tumor has been difficult. Thankfully, Linda has found the team at Schar Cancer Treatment Center and has been selected to enter a clinical trial. It turns out that the neurofibroma, although benign, has a mutation that carries the Her2 gene most commonly found in breast cancer. In an effort to slow the growth and ultimately, shrink the tumor, Linda will undergo 2 cycles of Chemotherapy that will last 4 months.

Despite having health insurance, everything is not covered, medical bills are mounting and the clinical trial will have additional expenses. The severity of the symptoms and the upcoming treatment has made it difficult for her to work. Keeping up with her bills and mortgage without money coming in is virtually impossible. We are asking you to help her avoid medical bankruptcy.

Linda has always considered herself to be self-sufficient and is resilient. She is scared but hopeful about the clinical trial and while she never thought she would be in the position to ask for help, we want to ease her financial burden so she can focus on her treatment. Linda is the first to help others, has raised money for local and national charities and can be counted on to contribute to community fundraisers. Now in her time of need, I am hoping she can count on our community for support.
