Meghan and Markku Juopperi's youngest daughter, Amelia, has Neuroblastoma. Neuroblastoma is a type of cancer that affects the nervous system of infants and young children. Would you please join her family in helping her beat this terrible disease?
Baby Amelia came into this world on June 8, 2014, as a healthy and happy baby girl. Before she was even a month old, she had to be taken to the hospital several times to undergo testing. Finally her parents received devastating news; their new baby girl had cancer. Now, at just under 3 months old, baby Amelia is preparing to undergo her first surgery. The cancer appears to be spreading, and next week doctors will perform a biopsy and insert lines for chemotherapy.
As you can imagine, this is all very difficult financially for Meghan and Markku. Adding to their stress are the bills for hospitals, doctor visits, and testing, which are starting to pile up. They had planned and saved be able to stay home with her for an extended maternity leave. Now that time is coming to an end, and savings are running out.
