Hello, I'm Roberta. My daughter, Sara Brown is a single working mother to an amazing three year old boy. 

April of 2020 Sara was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer and tested positive for the BRCA2 gene.  In her fight to beat this she has been through 17 rounds of chemotherapy followed by a double mastectomy.  During that surgery the doctors found that the cancer had spread more aggressively than they had anticipated. It is scary, but the doctors have laid out an intensive and extended course of radiation and chemo to fight it and we are hoping for the best.

Sara has been fortunate that so far most of her medical bills have been covered. However because of the intense treatment schedule she is considered a high risk for infection which could lead to very serious complications. Needless to say, Sara's hours have been cut in half and she can no longer work as many days needed to afford her bills. 

Sara has looked into state aid, but support is calculated in such a way that she did not qualify and is left to fend for herself.

When Sara holds her son I can see her trying to be strong for him but we are both terrified.  As our family navigates the unknowns of her illness, the medical bills, even with insurance, have already started to add up. All donations will be applied to Sara's medical bills and the long road ahead of her.
