When Hurricane Melissa tore through Jamaica, it left behind devastating damage across the island — but few areas were hit as hard as St. Elizabeth Parish. Homes were destroyed, crops were wiped out, and families who already lived modestly are now struggling to meet even their most basic needs.

For me, this isn’t just another news headline — it’s deeply personal. St. Elizabeth is where my mother was born and raised, and it’s where many of our family and friends still live today. Seeing the destruction and hearing the stories of neighbors who’ve lost everything has been heartbreaking.

In the aftermath of the storm, we’ve decided not to stand by — but to act.

My family and I are organizing relief efforts to provide direct support to the people of St. Elizabeth. We’ll be purchasing and shipping essential items such as:

Non-perishable food and clean drinking water

Basic hygiene supplies

Flashlights, batteries, and tarps

School supplies for children who’ve lost theirs

Monetary assistance for families to repair their homes

All funds raised will go directly toward buying and shipping these supplies to Jamaica. Once there, our family — with the help of trusted local contacts — will personally distribute aid within the hardest-hit communities.
