Nashwaak Villa - Pennies for our Thoughts Campaign

Nashwaak Villa, a long-term care home recently Gold Certified in Person Centred Care by Planetree International, is celebrating our 40th anniversary! To mark 40 years of excellence in providing care and quality of life to our community in Stanley, New Brunswick, we have decided to embark on a short fundraising and awareness campaign. It is our goal to raise through a number of strategies, $2000 for each year of operations of our home. It is our intent that these funds will allow us to continue to provide many wonderful programs that are not funded through government sources but add so much to the quality of life for our residents and work life for our staff team.
Being a person- centred home, at the heart of everything we strive for is our wonderful residents who call Nashwaak Villa home. At the core of our values, we want to engage each and every member of our community to contribute in a meaningful way to their surroundings. So, when planning the celebrations and fundraising efforts around 40th anniversary, we felt it most important to invite the residents to become active participants. And boy, did they accept our challenge!
Introducing, for the first time ever, Nashwaak Villa’s “Pennies for our Thoughts Campaign- Celebrating 40 years of Wisdom from our Elders”. Beginning on December 2nd and running until January 25th (with a short break for the holidays), our social media friends will be treated to a short video on our page with reflections and wisdom from our residents -with guest appearances from a few other treasured community members from time to time ;). This campaign is meant to bring a smile to the faces of everyone who finds it (and likely a few tears!) and it is our sincere hope that it will allow everyone to understand just how blessed we are to do the work that we do, and learn from our wonderful residents each and every day.
The ask from our residents in return for their wisdom? Two things:
1. They (and we) would ask that you share widely so we can spread the wonderful energy that they are bringing into the world with their wisdom far and wide!
2. They (and we) would also ask, if you value the wisdom they have shared, that you help us mark our 40th anniversary by making a suggested $40.00 donation at some time throughout the campaign – this would be one dollar for each day that they share their wisdom.
