Hi everyone, my name is Nicole, I’m a 27 year old student trying to raise funds for my cat Baxter’s vet bills. Baxter is my very first pet, and I just rescued him at the end of September 2024. I rescued him through a friend, therefore I don’t know a lot about his medical history; I didn’t even know his tail was paralyzed until I’d had him for a little while and figured it out myself. I am his 6th home and he’s just 5 years old. He is a very sweet, gentle boy, and I love him dearly. On February 16th I had to take him to the emergency vet because he was acting very strange; running around with crazy eyes, aggressively grooming himself, and seemed like he was in pain. That evening we didn’t find anything so they sent us home, but we were back the very next day where they found that his urinary tract was blocked. This condition can be fatal in cats if not treated within 24-48 hours. They had to admit him for 48 hours of treatment. He came home on February 19th, only to have to go back to emergency on February 21st with another blockage. This time they have admitted him for 3 days, and the vet bills are becoming unbearable. I humbly come to this platform to ask for help, it doesn’t feel great to ask for money but the bills are stacking up and I’m very scared. Baxter needs these treatments or else it will be fatal, and I really don’t want to have to send him to his 7th home. Thank you so much for reading Baxter’s story.
