In the face of my uncle, Dan Dammen, recently being diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), my family & I are choosing to focus on love, strength, & the incredible supportive community around us. My uncle is a kind, hardworking, & generous person who has always been there for others. Now, he needs our support. Although this tough battle was given from God unexpectedly, Dan has accepted his new job, to wake up everyday and fight, while the army around him rises to the occasion. We are raising funds to help ease the financial pressure so he & our family can focus on what truly matters—his treatment, healing, & strength during this fight. His diagnosis of an aggressive form of blood cancer requires immediate & intensive treatment that will take him out of work for a least a year. Collectively, my family decided on a starting amount of $150,000 to help cover the following expenses : travel, hospital stays, treatments, & surgeries. Any donation, no matter the amount, will make a difference. The smallest gesture would not only help Dan, but allow his wife & children to enjoy a nice dinner out or bring food to the hospital for a family dinner.
