Dry February for Corticobasal Degeneration

I’d originally  decided to do ‘Dry February’ as a personal goal this year, to see and hopefully feel the difference of an alcohol free month! I’ve now also decided to create a fundraising page for a cause that is extremely close to me.

My Mum was diagnosed over a year ago with a rare brain disease called ‘Corticobasal Degeneration’ also known as ‘CBD’.

CBD affects the area of the brain that processes information, movement, speech. Some similar symptoms to Parkinson’s.
Currently there is no treatment or cure.

There are clinical trials throughout the US but because of it’s rarity - they’re very early on.

The money I’m raising will go towards research in the hope that there is a cure in the future. CBD sits under the ‘umbrella’ of Dementia and this is why I’ve decided to fundraise for ‘Alzheimer Society of Canada’. There’s more research initiatives and trials here in Canada, opposed to Australia - hence my decision to choose a Canadian organization.
