DRY a shortfilm set in the drought of today

Donation protected
This is Joyce, I am a queer filmmaker from Berlin and I am currently in the funding state of my first short film in the frame of my Masterstudies at the renowned film school ESCAC which is based in Terrassa, Spain.

The film DRY is unfortunately inspired by the real life effects of the drought in Spain. It has led to a scarcity of water, rivers and streams have dried up, leaving behind nothing but dusty riverbeds. Water is regulated by the government and other strict regulations have been put into charge to protect what is left.

It's a short film which centers a lesbian couple on the verge of breaking up, as the silent protagonist has to leave the town with her mother due to effects of the drought. Despite the catastrophic setting I am planning on creating a feeling of hope and beauty within times of hopelessness.

If any of those topics apply to you and you would be interested in becoming part of the project, this is your chance.

I will invest the money mostly into the production cost, specifically food and water for the team, as we shoot in July and people warned me and said it's gonna be hot! I also plan on covering the transportation cost of cast and crew. And if there is still money left it will go into the art department for a surrealist, dance scene.

So yes, now is your chance to become a supporter in this film and in the cause to make the drought visible!
