Drunk Driving Awareness Capstone
Myself, Sierra Rodriguez, as well as my group members, Ariana Lopez, and Joshua Barker, are conducting a capstone project for CCHS. Our project is based on our driving question, “How can we prevent driving under the influence within our community?”. This is a topic that over time has grown to have a significant impact on our community and its members. It is an important topic that we feel should be made more well aware of.
That being said, the end goal of our capstone is to earn enough donations from our community to bring in a speaker to help raise awareness of the dangers of driving under the influence, to both CCHS and FHS. We hope to make this happen prior to prom on April 20th.
After doing some research and exploring our options, we found a speaker whom we would love to be able to bring in to speak to our peers - Cara Filler. She has been spreading awareness for over 30 years after her twin sister passed in a car crash. Her inspiring story makes us eager to have the opportunity to share this information with our school community.
We are still in the process of working out the details but little by little we are getting closer to our goal. We have the date secured for April 12, 2024. Your support would be invaluable and greatly appreciated. No matter how small any amount will make a significant difference in our efforts.
Our current efforts have made an amazing contribution and we hope to keep it going. We are so excited for our event and we are so grateful for those who have helped us make the progress we have.
Thank you for your support, together we can make a meaningful difference and create a better future!
