My boyfriend Logan Stone & I (Destinee Pierce) were sleeping soundly when a driver collided into our bedroom at 3:40 AM on Saturday, November 5th in Jericho, Vermont. Crash is still under investigation.

Not even being here for a year, this bedroom consisted of almost everything we had to make our livelihood. Countless electronic equipment, furniture, and nearly our lives. As a result, the mental and emotional anguish that comes with a near death experience was something Lo & I will be recovering from forever. This house was supposed to be a fresh start into our 20s, but we are simply no longer comfortable living in it. In addition to the costs of living that we no longer can afford from housing displacement.

The entire situation still feels very surreal. This moment was something we feared most being on a corner like this, and at times joked about. But for it to actually become our reality has been extremely traumatizing. With these costs and no longer having our home, Lo and I are in dire need and would greatly appreciate any amount of donation one feels generous enough to give.

Our hope is that Jericho realizes the dangers of this cornered home and makes safety changes for this to never happen again. We were extremely lucky to come out of this alive, and we hope that no one else has to get hurt for the city to make these necessary changes.
We are so, so thankful for our kind neighbors who came rushing to help and check in, to Logan’s parents for answering their phones when they did, and to future donators. Not only did Luck keep us alive, but community did as well.
