Hi, my name is Cat, and I’m in need of help. As embarrassing as this is, I’m drowning. My family is drowning trying to help me. Family being my 73yr old Dad and my daughter who just turned 18.

After my 2 spinal surgeries, one of which was an emergency surgery, and my sudden change of status in becoming disabled on January 23rd, I’ve become rained upon with so many medical bills that I can’t keep up with them. I can’t work and am not yet approved for the SSI and disability I’ve applied for.

On the 23rd of January I woke up with no feeling in my right foot and partial feeling in my left. Diagnosis is peripheral neuropathy of my lower extremities. I have to use a walker or wheelchair now. I can’t drive. They don’t yet know the cause, but think it’s related to whatever is attacking my autoimmune system. They want me to go in for further testing, but right now my insurance doesn’t cover it and we definitely can’t afford it.

This is absolutely the last thing I ever wanted to do, was ask for money from people to pay my own bills, but I’ve run out of viable options. In order to keep seeing docs, I have to be able to pay them.

I know with all we have going on, there are others in need, so any amount would greatly help, along with sharing this.

Edited again to add - my right hand (dominant hand) is now gone to I’m assuming neuropathy again. Luckily I crushed this hand years ago, so I’m somewhat used to using my left to do things. Unfortunately, now I have to get an EMG on my left upper extremity (arm and hand) to determine if indeed it is neuropathy and where it’s stemming from and if I need another cervical spinal surgery. We do desperately need help with these bills incoming. My insurance will not cover enough of this for us to afford it.

. I did get a diagnosis for the other autoimmune disease showing other than fibromyalgia. It’s called multiple connective tissue disease.
