Hi everyone,

My name is Hamdia Ahmed. I am starting this fundraiser because I believe that the world needs to come together to help the people of Somalia. As a activist and a Muslim Somali woman, I feel obligated to speak up and help my people. I hope that you will join me. Somalia is facing one of the worst drought, with millions of people in need of aid and thousands on the brink of starvation. The United Nations estimates 4.3 million Somalis are affected by the drought and more than half-a-million displaced. Many people have died due to starvation and dehydration. Somalia should not be forgotten.

 The funds will be used to provide food and water to families that are in need. We will give them funds in cash to families if necessary.

We will be working with activist to provide food and water to families before it’s too late. No amount of donation is too small. All receipts will be provided for transparency. 

This is also the month of Ramadan. Many families need our help as they are fasting and don’t have anything to break their fast with. 


Update: Thank you so much to everyone who has been supporting this fundraiser. I have started sending funds to support families in Kenya and in Somalia. The families have been making so much duas ( prayers) for everyone who has donated to help them. 

Right now, we decided to give families cash so that they can purchase food that fit their needs. We haven’t raised enough money to buy wholesale supplies for food and water, but in sha allah this is what we will do once we get enough funds. Please donate whatever you can. It will help save lives.
