"DROPS" ARTx Installation Costs
Donation protected
UPDATE: Construction materials costs are almost double original estimates. We need to raise the entire amount. I will personally fund any shortage, this project is going forward no matter what. Any amount can help - Tim
Building upon our success with the Janes Fork Pop Up Art Project where we had over 25 volunteers participate. ARTx Marin invited us to create an art installation that would be installed September 10, 2021 through October 17, 2021. ARTx Marin is a county wide, outdoor, site-based art exhibition featuring Bay Area artists and makers. 2021 is their inaugural year. Artists will create installations in various communities throughout Marin free for all, with a published map.
This project will involve even 30+ community members, and be located initially within Volunteer Park, at the corner of Melrose and Evergreen Ave. in Mill Valley. We are in a drought and must work together as a community to protect this essential resource. Our project entitled “DROPS ” is about our unique Marin environment, Water and the Mt. Tam Watershed, Love and Inclusivity. It will tell individual artists experience on one face of the DROP, the other face will be painted like a stream current. So from one side you see the individual, but the other perspective you see we are all a part of a group within this drought.

The $3,300 budget to build these DROP forms includes some potential Scholarships for artist who can't afford supplies. No one should be barred from participation because they cannot afford art supplies and tools.
The majority of the funds is to cover materials to build the 30 weighted stands, and if enough funds are raised, pay for some of the labor and transportation costs.
At the end of the scheduled installation, the DROPS may move to additional locations for repeated use.
Any amount is appreciated, not pressure, no problem.
