Drop in mental health cafe in memory of Yasmin

My twin sister Yasmin recently ended her life. She was a troubled soul and struggled with mental health issues. She didn’t feel like she could go and talk about her issues.  Her passing has shocked us as her family and has left us heartbroken. Our local community have felt this loss massively too. 

Yasmin was a very caring soul and helped many people. She worked as a nursery care assistant at mighty oaks in Tredworth and little oaks in Hartpury. She loved this job and thrived helping children in their early years. 

We are now fundraising a drop in cafe in Tredworth to help young people who may experience mental health issues. This would help fund the running costs, including the help from mental health specialists. We hope this can offer the right environment and a safe space for people to come and talk and have support. 

We hope this will prevent other families from going through what we are experiencing at present, the loss of our beautiful, fun, caring, loving, cheeky Yas. 

This cafe is also in memory of Carol Beard Yasmin’s lovely work colleague who sadly passed away due to covid. This brilliant idea has derived from Gwyneth Keen and the team and we can’t thank them enough for creating this in Yasmin’s memory.
