As we get set to celebrate our 135th anniversary or providing music to the town, Drogheda Brass Band was just set to announce a public in-person concert when we realised that with COVID-19 numbers rising in the town (official stats had it at 1 in 40 people tested positive in late November), it would have been remiss of us to continue on that path. Luckily, we were able to get the members together, socially-distanced in our bandrooms and abiding by all relevant protocols, to shoot some videos of some of the tunes we would have brought to the concert.

As with 2020, we had to cancel our entire programme of summer engagements (we did managed a couple in autumn before the weather closed in!). We also had to cancel our annual fundraisers again this year.

COVID-19 has had a huge impact on our finances.

We would be grateful for any support you could give us here on GoFundMe to help see us through into 2022. We can't even provide our annual festive cheer with our carol playing in Drogheda Town Centre or indeed at the Cottage Hospital and Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital on Christmas morning as we have done for 60+ years.
