20 years ago, a group of individuals made a decision to change the way cancer had touched their lives; to channel the challenges it brought into something positive, and – ultimately – to make a difference. The Drive for the Cure Foundation was born, with the goal of raising funds for those struggling with cancer or neurological illnesses, through various events and programs. Our Impact
With the generous support from local businesses and individuals in British Columbia (Canada), Drive for the Cure has raised over $2 million dollars to date. This year, 50% of funds will continue to be distributed for care and treatment, and the remaining 50% be placed in an Endowment Fund. As events and programs are run by our amazing volunteers, we are proudly able to allocate close to 0% for administration.
To date, proceeds from Drive for the Cure have contributed towards:
• Supporting local B.C. hospitals and Fraser Valley Cancer Centers
• Funding assistance and treatment programs for children and less fortunate families coping with devastating illness
• Purchasing special diagnostic and treatment equipment
To date, receiving hospitals, foundations and center's include:
• Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation
• Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation
• BC Cancer Foundation
• Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation
• Peace Arch Hospital Foundation
• ImageTech Lab
Drive For the Cure Tournament
Drive for the Cure fundraises through a number of events and programs, with the Annual Drive for the Cure Golf Tournament being one of the most high-profile and anticipated of the year. Our 20th Annual Redwoods Golf Tournament was held on Wednesday July 10th, 2018, and we would like to thank everyone who joined us for a day of fun on and off the links, while helping our fight against cancer and neurological illness. Those unable to make Drive for the Cure events and programs in person, can still join us in making a difference through your kind donations. We are very grateful for all the support we have received over the years, and would like to encourage donations in any amount. Drive for the Cure gives you the rare opportunity to specify where your cash donation is directed, such as a specific hospital, or piece of equipment. We will provide a tax receipt for your donation.
