Donation protected

Hello,
My name is Kristal Golden from Collierville, TN. On behalf of my 28-year-old nephew who was critically injured by gun violence, my family and I are seeking public assistance for long term care and expenses.
Miracles from Mayhem: LiQuinton’s Story
LiQuinton Tate is the proud, loving father of three and a charismatic young man with a carefree sense of humor. He likely thought he had experienced the most heart shattering loss he could imagine when he lost his father rather unexpectedly to his battle with sarcoidosis in 2020. But on April 3, 2023, LiQuinton became the victim of a violent drive-by shooting which has affected every aspect of the life he was struggling to build and restore, from his emotional security to his physical mobility. However, out of the mayhem of a traumatic moment, God allowed him to emerge miraculously. But we need your help to continue his journey.
Hope Emerges from Tragedy
On Monday morning, April 3, LiQuinton and a friend were driving home, when a strange car approached and began firing shots into their vehicle. As he tried to evade the shots by crossing over his console to the passenger side of his car, multiple bullets hit his back and torso, thereby severing his spine in two places. In total he was shot FIFTEEN times! He emerged from the car disoriented & dazed and stood for a moment before collapsing. A passerby/witness approached LiQuinton’s car and called the police.
Yet hope was on the horizon, as another kind soul arrived and came to LiQuinton’s aid, held him gently and helped him call his mother, Shelby Tate. LiQuinton told her that he had been shot and might die, but he wanted her to know that he loved her. But this Good Samaritan who had “the sweet voice of an angel” kindly, gently and firmly rebuked him, and spoke faith and hope to him, “No, baby! You are NOT going to die!” She was a great comfort to LiQuinton and Shelby and her words and spirit still resonate peace in their hearts today when they recall the events of that night.
Overwhelming and Urgent Challenges
Although his lower body is paralyzed, we thank God for the miracle that LiQuinton not only survived the barrage of bullets, but also that none pierced a vital organ. Continuing his miraculous recovery will be costly and is currently beyond our means. Immediate needs include:
1) Alterations to make the physical environment accommodate LiQuinton’s changing abilities
· durable medical equipment including a hospital bed and wheelchair
· home modifications which include home entry ramps and support bars throughout the house
· major home construction to add a bedroom and bathroom space that is wheelchair accessible and navigable
2) Emotional and psychological counseling
3) Continued medical and rehabilitation services
· LiQuinton’s inpatient stay at his current rehabilitation facility is coming to an end. With medical insurance still pending, we cannot secure much needed extended treatment at a Long-Term Spinal Rehabilitation Facility at this time. As we truly trust God for the fullness of his restoration, we are hopeful that insurance will be finalized soon. Thus, we seek support for the extensive travel and treatment cost associated with this promising care option.
