Driftaway: Short film

Theo experiences severe states of disassociation causing everyone around him to mysteriously disappear and as he begins to slip deeper into a dark hole, he realizes he must accept the help from a friend before it's too late to reconnect with his old self and the life he once loved.

Hello, my name is Jasmin Montiel, the head Producer of Driftaway, a short film written and directed by Dani Alejandra Garcia. This is a very personal project that explores the quiet struggles of mental health and our ultimate goal is to tell a story that everyone is able to resonate and be able to connect with.

Our exec. team is currently working really hard behind the scenes to make sure everything flows as our shooting dates are May 22-26. In order to make this happen we need your help to bring Dani’s vision to life. Every single dollar will go directly into essential areas of production, including:

Equipment! Our Director of Photography, Luke Hill-Norton, plans on shooting on a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 6k Pro. One of our priorities is the visual aspects of the film and we want to ensure the equipment captures the raw feel of our main character's mental health journey.

Insurance! This will protect our expensive equipment throughout the filming days!

Production Design! This will bring the creative vision to life.

Craft services! To ensure our cast and crew are well-fed.

Post-Production! Editing, color grading, sound mixing, and scoring to ensure this film reaches the emotional depth we’re aiming for.
