update - the skydive I’m due to do is still going ahead! It has been postponed so far due to weather conditions and also health aspects however hoping to do it in spring/summer 2026 :)

Hey! I’m Drew~ a trans man living in London ️‍⚧️

I currently work within the NHS and in the aim of creating a hopeful charity to help support children in inpatient psychiatric units receive more support in visits. I also volunteer in a workshop space doing garden work which is specialised in adults with learning difficulties to be able to express themselves within art.

I’ve been holding back from doing this fundraiser due to a number of reasons. Shame is definitely one of them however I realise it is okay to ask for support :)

I first spoke my truth of being Drew in 2019 which led to me being in a domestic household for a couple years. It took me a while to finally speak my truth and have the confidence and courage but I finally did in June 2022 :) ! Since then I have been put on the waiting list at GIC and still waiting to be seen for my first initial appointment. I also am currently 8 months on testosterone (26/10/2024) with the gratitude of wonderful friends I have In my life. Being on testosterone has definitely given me so much more confidence but also motivation to aim for the hope of top surgery. Since being on testosterone it has been a struggle to not over bind my chest with physical changes happening such as facial hair & voice changes which is creating constant physical pain.

Currently within work I have to be careful with how much I earn due to my rent being paid by the government. Being trapped in a system is not an enjoyment of mine and I hope one day to be out of this. I am coming close to 22 months sober/clean (19th September 2023). I am blessed to find recovery and am so grateful to be choosing a different way of life. This being said in recovery I was on the homeless register and my rent is incredibly high so my tenancy agreement is currently not an option for me.

To have this surgery will bring the calmness of peace for me within and also externally too.

If you can’t donate, that’s totally understandable and also completely okay!! I’m currently writing a play of my journey to hope it may help to raise money and awareness once the show is set! I am also doing a skydive in the hope it may help support the future surgery :)
