Waging War on Brain Cancer: Drew’s Fight for Life
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
We are Drew and Savannah Corbett, a 26-year-old couple living in Southern California. On April 18, 2024, our lives were turned upside down when Drew was diagnosed with brain cancer. Since then, Drew has faced this battle with immense courage, undergoing two craniotomies that successfully removed his original tumor and a small recurrence, along with 33 sessions of radiation and oral chemotherapy. His final session was on September 5, 2024.
Despite these significant medical efforts, Drew's journey is far from over. After extensive research and prayer, we believe the next crucial step in his fight is an immunotherapy treatment. We are particularly hopeful about a treatment known as DC Vax-L. This promising therapy has completed all three clinical phases and shows remarkable potential for treating glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), the aggressive cancer Drew is battling. Although DC Vax-L awaits FDA approval in the United States, it is available through Northwest Biotherapeutics in the UK.
The cost for this treatment is $250,000, not including travel expenses for the year-long process. As newlyweds and college students, the cost of this life-saving treatment is nearly beyond our reach. However, with faith, determination, and your support, we believe we can achieve this goal.
We are also exploring another potential treatment option: the CEGAT multi-peptide vaccine offered in Germany by Dr. Sasika. This vaccine, which costs $100,000, is another promising therapy for glioblastoma. If we are unable to meet our goal for the DC Vax-L treatment, we are considering this alternative to ensure Drew has the best possible chance of recovery.
Your generous contributions will go directly towards funding Drew’s access to these critical treatments, whether it be DC Vax-L in the UK or the CEGAT vaccine in Germany. Your support is vital in giving Drew the best chance at prolonging his life and fighting this aggressive cancer. Drew’s neuro-oncologist is certain that Drew’s diagnosis was due to his deployment overseas and what he was exposed to during that time… They informed us that Drew’s diagnosis of (Glioblastoma) is known to have a correlation with his time in service and the location he was deployed at!Please consider donating to Drew’s campaign, sharing our story, and offering your support. Let’s fight for our hero to get the treatment he needs!!!
As we navigate this healing journey, we find strength in Psalm 31:24: “Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.” With God’s grace and your support, we believe we can overcome this cancer journey together. Thank you for your kindness and support these past few months. We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support we have received so far. We believe in the Lord’s healing and give all the glory to Him for Drew’s strength and resiliency.
God bless you all,
Drew & Savannah Corbett
