Drew Otto's Eagle Project Proposal

Hello, my name is Drew Otto. I am currently a sophomore honors student, varsity athlete in football and volleyball, and Boy Scout. I am raising money to fund my Eagle Scout Project.

For my project, I plan to create and install 63 new garden plot signs for the Harry Otsubo Community Garden in Dana Point, CA. Each sign features the garden plot number and a drawing of a garden insect (ladybug, bee, dragonfly, butterfly) created by talented local artist and teacher Mary Mayer.

My hope is that these signs are both functional and aesthetically pleasing to gardeners and visitors. Funds raised will pay for printing costs for the signs, supplies, and design fees.

I’m very grateful for my scouting journey as it has helped to shape my character, work ethic, and confidence. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned through scouts is the importance of service to others. This Eagle Scout Project will allow me to give back to our community by creating durable and beautiful garden signs that visitors can enjoy for years to come.
