Hello! Thank you for visiting my donation link!
I found my passion for acting after performing in my very first production, which was the Colonial Players of Annapolis' biennial production of "A Christmas Carol." I had already been involved with music, having taken piano lessons and participating in a children's choir. Theater and acting simply tied all of it together: I loved music and performance, and I certainly liked to act out at home. Perfect.
Throughout my senior year of high school, I carefully thought about what I wanted to do once I graduated. I knew I wanted to pursue acting—that was a given. After considering the many paths that can lead to a successful performing career, I determined that furthering my training and education in the arts within a highly respected and reputable college program is currently the best for me.
The college audition process has been one that I would not pass up. Though it was stressful at times, I felt that at the end of the day, the work I put into it paid off. Sure, I received rejections from schools, but I felt that each audition was a success because I learned something from each experience. This is something that has reflected throughout all of my years of performing. I have valued every experience because there was always something to learn. Whether it was with a certain cast mate, crew member, script, or company, every opportunity to hone in on my craft with others was invaluable to me. It would be unfair of me to point out certain individuals who have guided me along this path, as I have had many mentors of whom I am eternally grateful.
Not only am I passionate about acting, but I have also expanding my artistry into new territories. For over three years I have been writing and developing an original new musical. I have moved forward with a workshop production set to be performed on June 26th. Because of this project, I have also dabbled in producing, casting, directing, and marketing. It's been a learning experience in itself!
Donations will not only help to further said project and those in development, but will go towards my education and passions as I pursue my BFA in Acting at the University of Michigan this coming fall—an exciting opportunity, but nevertheless a financial burden that I am working hard to alleviate.
