Drew Mikkelsen's Fight Against End-Stage Liver Disease

Hi, my name is Sierra Mikkelsen, and I am reaching out on behalf of my wonderful husband, Drew Mikkelsen, who is currently facing end-stage liver disease. Drew is 33 years old, he has a wife, and two kiddos who need him to be around more than ever. As many of you have seen on my Facebook page, Drew has been in and out of the hospital over the last several months. We are in an incredibly challenging time, and we are hoping to raise funds to help ease the financial burden during what will be an extremely long and uncertain journey ahead.

Drew’s condition will most likely require a liver transplant, which is what doctors are starting to lean towards, and in the meantime, he is unable to work while undergoing treatments. We have an appointment with the Hepatologist on the 11th to discuss this further. He will have to have his stomach drained of fluid every 10-14 days moving forward. To date, they have pulled 14 Liters of fluid off of him. The medical bills are quickly piling up, and as the only other source of income for our family of four, I am doing everything I can to stay on top of expenses, and to be positive and keep our spirits up. But, the reality of the situation is that it is going to be a long and scary road, and any support we can receive will make a world of difference.

The funds raised will help cover medical expenses, daily living costs, and other unforeseen challenges we will face throughout Drew’s treatment and recovery. Those who know us personally know how hard it is for us to ask for help, but we know we can’t do this alone anymore.
