The Charity –Dress For Success GL

Dress for Success Greater London is a Chapter of the global charity Dress for Success. The mission of the charity is to provide interview clothes, interview training, a network of support and career development tools.

They help women of all ages and backgrounds that are unemployed, disadvantaged or vulnerable and help them to thrive in their life no matter the current circumstances they currently find themselves in.

Rhiannon Dodson-Edwards (Chair of the Young Executive Success Club)

"I always felt a little guilty about the number of disposable clothes I buy and keep adding to, without ever repurposing my pre-loved items. That’s when I started doing my research about what I could do and found Dress for Success.

Dress for Success has offices globally and have helped millions of women over its years to find employment and careers through their mission of giving smart clothes and interview training, among other services, to their clients.

I can say from personal experience, right up until today when in meetings, that wearing clothes to an interview or meeting that makes you feel empowered can give you the confidence in yourself that will make you shine to your employer.

It is even more vital to support charities like Dress for Success in this current climate.

Dress for Success Greater London was supposed to have had its ‘Year of Growth’ in 2020, but because of Covid had to postpone that until 2021.

The Greater London branch was also supposed to have reopened a new premise in November, but now they cannot and have to find the funding for a new premise for 2021 to be able to support the influx in clients that have been made redundant or furloughed over lockdown this year.

This is my first event as Chair of the Young Executive Success Club for Dress for Success Greater London. As I am the first Chair that they have had since 2015, I am determined to relaunched both the YES Club and kick off the 2021 Year of Growth with a dramatic impact.

With the support you can give the charity by donating for a ticket to this Virtual Event, not only will you have access to fantastic and inspirational speakers giving you advice and tips on navigating personal and mental health in the online world we find ourselves in, you will also be enabling vulnerable, disadvantaged and unemployed women the opportunities that you have by being employed in an amazing company like Cisco, to get back on their feet, start their careers and support themselves and their families."
