Hi, my name is Brittany Miller and I am raising funds on behalf of my baby brother, Dream Miller.
On February 2, 2023 it was discovered that Dream had an abscess on his brain from a bacterial infection, something that is very rare in general, and even more rare in children. Given the size of the abscess, Dream was required to have immediate brain surgery and has undergone several MRIs which require anesthesia each time. A second brain surgery has resulted in a plate in his brain, multiple medications with side effects, seizures, and hospitalization including ICU care for the past 6 weeks.
After exhausting options and treatment plans, we are hopeful to bring Dream home surrounded by loved ones in the upcoming weeks. At 2 years old he is one of the strongest people I know and has remained resilient, charismatic, and silly despite being unable to go outside or play with his siblings. He has made a lasting impression on every nurse and doctor that he has come into contact with.
Since February 2, his parents have been at Detroit Children's Hospital. Due to his extended hospital stay, the Ronald McDonald house allowed them to stay there to be in constant and close care every day during this time.
When the infection is completely gone, his body will need time to heal from the impacts of the medications and surgeries, therefore the road to full recovery will be a long one even with being released. No child should have to experience the nightmare of what Dream has endured.
There have been several people who have reached out and asked how can they help so I created this Go Fund Me to make Dream’s Disney World dream come true. Giving him the most magical experience that he truly deserves after this nightmare. His doctors have cleared him to be able to go once released. The funds will be used to send Dream to Disney World, offset medical and other costs from being displaced from home. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
