Dreaming Big for Nakasero Primary
Donation protected

Forty-six years ago, I was a little girl with a big promise...Somehow, someway, I would give back to the country that holds my heart and so many happy childhood memories.
Although the intervening years haven’t been kind to Uganda, after decades of political upheaval and unimaginable human suffering, I returned in 2016 to discover that her sunsets are still as breathtaking and her people haven’t lost their warm, welcoming smiles.
So, time marches on; that little girl is now what students at Nakasero Primary School might call “an old girl.” But she’s also a teacher on a mission - to help bring her little Ugandan elementary school into the 21st century. My goal is to raise the necessary $$ to fund an after-school robotics club, to provide the necessary teacher training, and to support an initiative to bring RoboRAVE (an international robotics competition) to Uganda.

Am I still dreaming to think that this can happen? I always tell my students that you should dream big or go home. So please, help me prove to them and to the children of Uganda, that some dreams, no matter how big, do come true!
Asante sana (thank you)!
