Healing is not just personal — it’s collective.
In the wake of Hurricane Melissa, my family’s home island of Jamaica is hurting.
Communities are flooded. Families are displaced. Elders and children are without power, clean water, or safety.
Today, that truth is calling me home.
I’m extending the mission of Shameeka Dream Wellness — from healing retreats to direct humanitarian relief.
Because wellness and survival are intertwined.
⚡️ URGENT: 24-HOUR ASSESSMENT MISSION

From Baltimore to Jamaica, this work is rooted in the same spirit:
Care as resistance. Compassion as revolution.
Together, we can rebuild, restore, and remember what’s possible when we lead with love.
✨ From uprising to uplift.
From dreaming forward to acting now.
From wellness to collective survival.
Thank you for walking this path with me — still dreaming, still doing, still together.

Why I’m Asking for Your Support — Right Now:
Today marks 10 years since my face, body, and spirit went viral during the Freddie Gray Uprising in Baltimore.
I didn’t ask to go viral.
I was simply present — holding sacred space, chanting, marching, refusing to look away.
The world watched me in a moment of truth, grief, and rage.
But they didn’t stay.
The cameras moved on.
I didn’t.
Ten years later, I am still here — not just surviving, but planting a vision of collective rest, liberation, and healing.
And now, I’m asking you to build this vision with me.
The Vision:
I’m raising $100,000 to launch Shameeka Dream Wellness, a global movement of healing and dreaming out loud.
This funding will support:
Completion of my doctoral dissertation
One year of secure living expenses to build this foundation full-time
Launching retreats in Jamaica, Ghana, and the U.S.
Offering 5 full-ride scholarships to Black women and cultural healers who urgently need rest and restoration
Who I Am:
I’m Shameeka Smalling — doctoral candidate, Reiki Master Teacher, cultural healer, space-holder, transformer, and Dream Architect.
Ten years ago, I stood in the middle of an uprising.
Now I am building sanctuaries so that Black women don’t always have to fight to be seen, to breathe, to dream.
I have spent years cultivating healing spaces rooted in justice, spirit, ancestral wisdom, and cultural resilience.
I have held space for hundreds. I’ve birthed movements. I’ve held it down and held it open.
But now is the moment to move from healer to institution builder, from participant to visionary founder.
Why This Work Matters Now:
We are still tired.
Still hurting.
Still holding more than we should.
But we’re also ready.
Ready to live, rest, dream, and heal out loud and in community.
Imagine:
A land-rooted retreat in Jamaica where we remember joy and reclaim dreams
A healing pilgrimage in Ghana that reconnects us to ancestral wisdom
U.S.-based sanctuaries for cultural workers and changemakers to lay down the armor and remember they are human
Imagine giving five Black women a fully paid, sacred retreat experience — no application hoops, no trauma porn essays. Just yes, you deserve to be here.
What the $100,000 Covers:
$20,000 – Final dissertation completion (tuition, editing, research time, and defense prep)
$30,000 – Living expenses for one year so I can work on this full-time
$25,000 – Retreat startup and pilot launches in Jamaica, Ghana, and the U.S.
$15,000 – Scholarships for five full-ride retreat participants
$10,000 – Legal, operational, and infrastructure support
This isn’t just a passion project.
It’s a blueprint for liberation through healing.
Why I’m Reaching Out to You:
Because 10 years ago, the world watched me stand in a storm.
Now I am building sanctuaries so no one has to stand alone in the fire again.
I’ve given my life to this work. I’m not new to it. I’m not temporary.
This is legacy.
If you have ever marched with me, meditated with me, healed with me, or been moved by my journey — now is the time to invest.
How You Can Help:
Donate — $10, $100, $10,000 — every amount fuels the dream
Share — Send to friends, allies, institutions, influencers
Sow blessings — Speak life, leave a comment, claim this vision with me
Sponsor a retreat seat — Want to fund a full scholarship? Reach out.
Final Word:
This is the decade mark.
From uprising to uplift.
From viral image to visionary leadership.
From surviving the flames to building fires that warm, not burn.
I’m not just asking for money.
I’m asking for partnership, for faith, and for us to rise together.
Let’s dream bigger than struggle.
Let’s build a world rooted in wellness.
Let’s Dream Forward — Together
