Dr. Elizabeth Auger taught for more than twenty years at Saint Joseph's College in the Sciences Department, teaching courses, such as Biology, Medical Biology, and Biochemistry. She was more than a professor and advisor; She was a mentor, friend, and motherly figure to many members on campus. She poured her heart and soul into Saint Joseph's College and its Biology Department for the love of her students.
Her scholarly interests centered on how bacteria respond to environmental stress, responses that allow bacteria to survive under adverse conditions and, in some cases, cause disease. She previously studied stress responses in cancer cells and their effect on cancer treatment. She was an avid knitter, a loving pet owner, and a passionate volunteer for animal humane societies.
The Pre-Professional Sciences Club at Saint Joseph's College is raising money for the Animal Refuge League in memory of our beloved advisor, Dr. Auger. She used to volunteer at this organization, and we know this would mean a lot to her. ❤
