Drake Needs our Support!

On September 27, Drake woke up with severe flu symptoms. After nursing the supposed flu symptoms at home and seeing no improvement, Drake ended up in the ER where three days later they discovered there was an aggressive bacterial infection in his blood. After a week on antibiotics, Drake went for routine scans when they discovered he had endocarditis. After many scans and an ECHO, the doctors found a hole in the mitral valve of his heart as a result of this infection. For the last month, Drake has been living in the hospital with daily antibiotics delivered through IV and PIC lines trying to combat this infection in his heart. Last week, he had to get his wisdom teeth removed as another complication arose. During this surgery, he had an anaphylactic reaction to an unknown drug that put him in the ICU. With the infection being extremely aggressive, it has now moved into his kidneys and spleen. Drake will be having open heart surgery to repair the damages this infection has done to his heart and prevent the infection spreading any further throughout his body. He has a long road to recovery ahead of him. He is out of work for the foreseeable future and will have to travel to Vancouver for testing once he is strong enough to do so post surgery. His mother is relocating back to Kelowna to be his full time caregiver post surgery.

Drake is going to be off work for awhile. And the bills will be piling up fast. Hes going to need to focus on healing and the stress of bills needs to be alleviated. Please donate and give our guy a fighting chance!!
