Hello, our name is Leah.

We are a system with CPTSD, PTSD, and DID, alongside General Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, and OCD and ADHD. We are trying to move out into a dorm at college.

Originally this GoFundMe was for getting our first apartment at avery philly. However, we realized that dorm on campus would be a more realistic and feasible option due to lashback and introspection. Seeing as we are moving out, we would like to get an ESA kitten. Currently things are in the works as to how much everything will cost.

Some things to note:
  • Fafsa will be covering my dormitory.
  •  I will have a federal work aid as my source of income for food and supplies.
  • I am currently looking for a second job in camden or in philly.
  • I have had cats before, but due to family situation I cannot bring any of our pets to the dorm or to my apartment.
  • The Dorms at rutgers only allow Support Animals.
  • This is at strong recommendation from both my therapist and psychiatrist.
  • ESA documents are in the works from my provider.
  •  I am specifically looking for a kitten, albeit a few months old, and I am already contacting and looking at ones to adopt.
  • I will adopt them around the same time I move in, which will be by September third.
  • This is not and never was a fundraiser to pay for college.
  • This is a fundraiser to pay for a support animal to help us through triggers, anxiety attacks, bouts of severe depression, etc, a role that is currently occupied by our dogs at home.

Preliminary Budgeting:
  • Cat adoption fee: $75–$250
  • Initial veterinary exam: $50–$100
  • Vaccinations (if needed): $50–$150
  • Microchip (if needed): $20–$50
  • Spay/neuter (if not already completed): $100–$400
  • Carrier: $30–$60
  • Litter box and supplies: $40–$75
  • Food and water bowls: $10–$25
  • Cat food: $30–$60 Litter: $20–$40
  • Scratching posts, toys, and enrichment items: $50–$100
  • Bed and comfort items: $20–$50
  • Monthly food and litter costs: $40–$70/month
  • Emergency vet fund: $300 set aside for unexpected needs
 Estimated initial goal: $800-$1,000

Any support, donation, or share would mean a lot. Helping me bring home an ESA cat would help me create a more stable living environment while giving a cat a loving forever home.

This is ongoing, and will be updated once I find a vet, a kitten, etc. Every step of the way.

To those that have already donated, thank you. It means a lot. Getting a support animal was already part of the plan, but we realized that fundraising 7k wasn’t realistic at this point in time. -Dragon’s Lily.
