We are student filmmakers in our last year at Leeds Arts University. Currently, we are in the process of producing our final project called “Dragged” which is a comedy short film.
LOGLINE: An overconfident but untalented drag queen hires a documentary crew to capture her “rise to fame” turning her delusions into a comedic spectacle.
A word from our script writer Emma- why did you want to write this story?
I chose to write Dragged because I have always been inspired by the drag scene and RuPaul’s Drag Race especially and it’s always been something I’ve loved so I was inspired by that whilst exploring my own comedy script writing work.
How your support will help us:
We don’t have a large budget due to being students so every donation will go straight back into increasing the production value to make this film the best it can be.
This includes:
-Travel and Transportation for crew/actors to get from locations safely. This protects the film equipment and our crew during filming.
-Props for our sets.
-Costumes for our characters,
-Securing locations.
-Catering for cast and crew.
-Film Festival Submissions: this will ensure that we can continue to make this film be seen postgraduate.
Next steps:
We want to do everything we can to keep this film alive after we finish university. Film festivals are an incredibly accessible way for new upcoming filmmakers to be noticed. It’s also an amazing way to network and get us into the industry.
Your donations will help us do that! No matter how big or small the donation is we appreciate everything. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this crowd raiser around to other people. Thank you for supporting us and using your time to read about our short film Dragged.
