May 2nd, 2020 was Draedon’s 16th birthday, dozens of people attended his birthday parade, the picture above is of him enjoying life that very same day! That same evening he was a passenger in a serious car accident sustaining numerous injuries, including 2 fractured femurs, collapsed lungs, lacerated liver, kidney and spleen as well as a severe brain injury.
Draedon is currently in the best hands at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon where his mother, Stacey, is by his side every day, all day as she is unable to come and go due to the COVID restrictions. It is these same restrictions that have his father, Chris, not allowed into the hospital. Chris spends his days in the hospital parking lot outside Draedon and Stacey's window. At night he retires to a hotel as Ronald McDonald House is closed due to COVID. The remainder of the family travels between Indian Head area and Saskatoon to spend time with them from the hospital parking lot.
Draedon has had surgeries to repair his fractures. Family and friends are now patiently awaiting Draedon’s progression through his brain injury and the final outcome. We do know he will require extensive rehabilitation, both cognitive and physical.
This campaign will help to ensure his parents can focus on Draedon's recovery without the worry of current and future medical, rehabilitation, accessibility and travel expenses. So the family can give Draedon every advantage needed to become the best that he can be.
We know Draedon as the tenacious boy with a heart of gold, the go-getter that is humble, determined, strong willed one with a passion for hockey and football! The dedicated young man that everyone wants on their team. We know that these traits will help him in his recovery journey.
We know Draedon's mom, Stacey, as the first one to support others to be the best person they can be, encourages other to follow their dreams, and her favorite saying “Go Be Awesome!” Her eagerness and strength will help Draedon through this.
We know Draedon's dad, Chris, as the very first one to volunteer his time, donate his money, and organize any event that benefits surrounding communities. He is a major supporter and main organizer for many community events. He is very involved in all activities that his children are in. Chris' dedication and determination will be the support that Draedon needs.
It is our hope that people the Faubert's have connected with will now rally with us to help the family through this difficult time. Any donation to this amazing family will be immensely appreciated! Please share and keep Draedon, his siblings and his Mom and Dad in your thoughts and prayers. Hug those that are close to you!
