Draco The One-eyed Dog Needs Your Help!
Donation protected
Hi my name is Draco!
.
.
I live in Lima Peru, at the Voz Animal animal shelter. I was very hungry and looking for food scraps at the market for most of my life. I am very affectionate and kind to everyone around me but not everyone has been kind to me and I lost an eye one day. I was wandering around very weak and skinny near the highway when my rescuers found me, covered in fleas and ticks and with a really low white-blood-cell count.
.
I am considered unadoptable in Peru. I am not a purebred or have unique features. I am not a puppy and for the 1.5 years I've spent at the shelter, no one has ever asked for me or to see me. I am missing one eye, which makes my adoption in my home country even harder.
.
The other dogs at the shelter are quite rough with me and bully me, I am too timid and sweet to stand up for myself. The shelter workers worry about me as I grow more depressed and isolated, they were desperate to find me a home.
.
Finally, after all these years and in the midst of a pandemic, I have been adopted in Vancouver! There is a family that is ready to spoil me and love me unconditionally. There are restrictions with covid19 that I will need to fly without a flight buddy. I will need to fly as cargo with Pet Wings. This is very expensive unfortunately but my case is urgent. If you can please find it in your heart to help me I would be forever grateful!
.
The total cost of sending me to my new home is CAD$2,250. That includes transportation, neutering, vaccinations, health check in Peru and health check once I arrive in Canada. We would need the funds before August 2020, where things might change and I might not be allowed to leave Peru at all.
.
I know I might be asking for a lot but please if you can find it in your heart to give me a "paw" to help, you will be part of my happily ever after. If you can't donate, please share my story, I think together we can help my happy ending be a reality!
